Stentorians of Los Angeles City, organization was founded in 1954, by African American Fire fighters
of the Los Angeles City and Los Angeles County Fire Departments. Their purpose was to combat the racism and blatant bigotry that prevented African-Americans from joining and advancing in the fire service.The Los Angeles City Stentorians belong to the (iabpff) International Association of Black Professional Fire fighters
, a National Organization in which the Los Angeles City Stentorians are charter members of.
